• Deal with the compliance, and risk management for in-house counsel and other legal administrator groups.

• Represent the business units of the company as required and assist legal direction to other departments of the company regarding legal actions.

• proactively create and maintain awareness and give training to employees on the laws and regulations.

• Maintain relations with federal and regional government bodies and secure that holland dairy is operating within the legal framework in Ethiopia.

• Represent holland dairy in federal and regional court or ambition tribunals, prepare pleadings submitting complaints and testimonials to the police on behalf of holland dairy.

• Design and oversee the company’s policy and position on legal matters.

• Draft legal documents within holland dairy such as contracts, statements, and agreements (suppliers, customers).

• Organize and maintain contract register and secure the renewal of all contracts, license permits, and other legal documentation.

• Prepare, file, and plead cases for court and provides legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights and obligations of the company.

• Communicate and present on behalf of holland dairy for any corporative activities.  

• Assist shareholders on the project. 

• Take the lead in legal issues and discuss with an external lawyer with the guidance of the department head or the management of the company.

• Translate documents and attend the meeting.

• Manage data privacy risks.

• Oversee the legal department and ensure that it is operating efficiently and effectively.

• Provide strategic legal advice to the company's senior management.

• Secure permits, and update licensees of the company and its assets including expat work and residence permits and visas. 

• Other responsibilities assigned by the department manager or deputy manager of Holland Dairy.

Job Requirements

• LLB Degree

• 6+ years of experience in the legal field, experience in a leadership role is a plus.

• Strong understanding of contract law, regulatory compliance, litigation, employment law, intellectual property, and data privacy.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong leadership and management skills.
