About ASDEPO
ASDEPO’s mission is works to improve the lives of the needy mothers, children, youths, and elders from first to last escalating their access to health and education services, supporting income generation and improving the natural environment, using a holistic and participatory loom.
ASDEPO is a local Civil Society Organization that has been working in all Regions of Ethiopia towards ensuring the poorest and most vulnerable and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental rights of life, including but not limited to adequate shelter, food and livelihoods, water and sanitation, nutrition, healthcare and education. ASDEPO implements a range of multi-sectorial development, resilience, recovery and humanitarian responses Programmes by being sensitive to cross-cutting issues.
Purpose: The Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) Officer is responsible for the daily technical planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring, and reporting of food security activities including General Food Distribution, School Feeding activities, and for ensuring proper coordination with stake holders through participating in National/subnational ATF and Food clusters, TWGs, Workshops and other monthly coordination meetings. The position is at ASDEPO head office, and requires traveling to the project areas.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Agriculture program coordinator, responsible for Livelihoods and Food security programme interventions of ASDEPO head office.
Regularly monitor and evaluate Livelihoods and Food Security projects performance and provide timely inputs, feedback and impact of the ASDEPO project interventions field offices.
In consultation with and under the supervision of the Livelihoods and Food Security project coordinators develop and implement surveys and needs assessments in IDP, refugee camps and host communities.
Provide overall technical expertise and management of all GFD and school feeding related activities in refugee camp.
Record and document field achievements, innovations, failures, and lessons learned to integrate into project activities and inform project strategy.
Ensure the timely implementation of field works as per the predefined schedule.
Organize capacity building training for staff and government stakeholders.
Conduct field monitoring in collaboration with the local stakeholders on project implementation including participants, and communities benefitted by the project activities.
Logistical planning of distributions and other field activities (procurement, transport, budget request etc.
Work closely with other ASDEPO departments in the hiring and training of project staff.
Fulfill other reasonable duties and responsibilities, as requested by the Head of Programmes.

Requirements
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Business Administration, and other related social science fields.
Minimum 5 years’ working experiences for BSc/BA degree holders and minimum 3 years’ working experiences for MSc /MA degree holders in related fields.
Experiences on working in IDPs, returnees, and refugees context.
Understanding of the context of the Gambella region and refugee camps.
Willingness to travel frequently in the project areas and to work under challenging conditions.
Ability to work within a team structure or independently, flexible, and can cope with stressful workload
