Job Description

Major Responsibility:

  • Builds awareness of key target partners and networks in the landscape restoration sector.

  •  Support the FMNR Strategic Partnerships Manager to establish and/or strengthen a multi-stakeholder coordination mechanism at national level; and

  • Achieves agreed partnership, networking and funding targets.

  • Provide overall leadership and coordination in the designing, preparation of nutrition and WASH advocacy statements during the R2G project implementation period.

  • Closely work together with WVE national staff and integrate the FMNR Scaling-Up actions with existing WVE FMNR practices for wider advocacy and promotion and for building the capacity of FMNR actors

  • Priorities targeted relationships with existing and new technical and implementing organizations

  • Mobilize diverse actors to become members of the National Chapter of the FMNR Scaling-Up movement in Ethiopia.

  • Facilitate the development of a joint position statement and key advocacy messages

  • Facilitate the development of a joint advocacy strategy and implementation plan

  • Actively participate in local networks in landscape restoration to raise the profile of FMNR, the national FMNR Scaling-Up movement

  • Actively participate in sector and donor networks and forums in Ethiopia to raise the profile of FMNR, the national FMNR Hub

  • Project management tools are created with the ability to track quality and effectiveness and to use adaptive management strategies for continuous improvement; opportunities are fulfilled against an agreed business model.

  • Lead the development of end-to-end management processes, documentation and reporting frameworks.

  • facilitate the development of a CRF by National Chapter members to mobilize, align and coordinate the activities and investments of diverse stakeholders around a common purpose, goals and targets; and

  • Monitor progress against the CRF, including supporting the development of tools to capture required monitoring and evaluation data.

  •   Insure budgets are developed, managed and reported back to supporters and partners.

  • Support the FMNR Strategic Partnerships Manager with donor reporting, and the preparation of presentations of other external resources

  • Support the analysis of existing policies and legislation in Ethiopia of relevance to the scale-up of FMNR;

  • Facilitate the development of a joint position statement and key advocacy messages by National Chapter members; and

  • Facilitate the development of a joint advocacy strategy and implementation plan by National Chapter members.

  • Supports the FMNR Strategic Partnerships Manager to mobilize resource support from national government(s) and donors to support the implementation of the CRF and the sustainability of the national FMNR Scaling-Up movement in Ethiopia (i.e., the National Chapter and the CoE) through financial and in-kind contributions.

  • Work with the FMNR Strategic Partnerships Manager with donor reporting, and the preparation of presentations of other external resources

  • Prepare annual and bi annual reports for donor and organization

  • Works with WVE staff to introduce, test and pilot new innovations/practices of the FMNR in some program areas of  WVE

  • Actively participate in the climate change and environment technical working group established under ILaNS TP.

  • Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:

  • MA/MSc Degree in Social sciences, Development Studies and related fields.

Required Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in relevant field and NGOs experience is preferred

  • Specific experience in NRM, environment advocacy projects is an added value

  • Significant bi-lateral donor grant experience with program implementation, funding acquisition, and reporting

  • Must be a creative individual with strong sense of priorities and organizational skills and an ability to work with diverse teams across considerable distances

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and strong interpersonal skills are needed

  • Must be able to negotiate ideas within and outside the World Vision partnership, particularly with donor communities and government.

  • Optimum level of interpersonal skills to keep up internal and external harmonious working relation

  • Quick learner with ability to think strategically and creatively

  • Excellent ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Federal language/s

  • Proficient computer literacy using of Microsoft Office Microsoft Word, Excel & MS Power Point

  • Excellent level of skills and knowledge on use of data management systems ( SSPro, Stata etc..)
