The main purpose of the Position

Performing the day-to-day activities and administrative processes for the customs clearance and transportation (international and local freights) of medical and non-medical goods for the MSF Belgium Mission in Ethiopia, according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure the optimal running of the Mission operations.

Accountabilities

• Performing the day-to-day activities and administrative processes to ensure an efficient running of the customs clearance and transportation of medical and non-medical goods within the mission.

• Managing and planning, in collaboration with the Supply Chain Officer and the project teams, the shipment of goods where MSF has projects, choosing the best possible means of transport, and following MSF Transport policies.

• Monitor all domestic transport movements and prepare monthly reports expressing the consolidated data.

• Follow up on the reception of international freight in the country and its forwarding to the central warehouse.

• Being responsible for all customs and administrative-related issues

• Regularly assessing the local transport and customs clearance agents’ market (companies, prices, services, lead times) and proposing different third-party providers for validation

• Performing delegated tasks according to operational priorities.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, or related areas.

Competencies: Proficiency in Excel 

Language: Amharic and English 

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in International Organizations working with customs-related processes.
