Brief introduction
REACH Ethiopia is a non-profit local organization established and registered as an Ethiopian Resident’s Charity. It strives to contribute to community development through the implementation of innovative and targeted project interventions to deliver quality health services for disadvantaged communities.
Since its establishment in 2013, REACH Ethiopia has been implementing projects that are targeted towards addressing challenges around TB programming at the community and facility level in Urban and rural settings throughout the country including Sidama, SNNP, Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Harar, Afar and parts of Oromia Regions, and contribute to regional and national END TB targets.
Purpose of this Position:
Reporting to the Finance Manager and/or Finance and Operations Director, the Project Accountant will assist with preparing cash flow forecasts, annual budgets, etc. In addition, the Project Accountant will assist the finance department team in the preparation of financial reports, assist the Finance Manager in financial management, and reconcile financial and inventory with the consultation of the Finance Manager, Finance and Operations Director, and with close communication with the cashier and admin assistant. Preparation of payment documents. Make sure that all payment documents have supporting documents before processing payments.
The role requires confidence to manipulate large volumes of data to produce valuable information, often working to tight deadlines; and the individual must have an eye for detail with strong organizational skills.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparations of monthly fund balance statements for all projects
Posting transactions on Peachtree accounting software and extracting necessary reports from the database.
Responsible for review of all staff travel, advances, and training documents, and preparing payments.
Ensure that all expenses are supported by appropriate documentation as required by donor policy and donor regulations and are allocated to the appropriate budget category.
Preparing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow
Prepare bank reconciliations
Manage budget to ensure that budget line items are expended as per approved budget.
Being a key point of contact for other departments on financial and accounting matters
Supporting the Finance Manager and executives with projects and tasks when required.
Track bank deposits and payments
Review and implement financial policies
Ensure all invoices are processed promptly, including matching them to purchase orders raised and checking they are adequately authorized and coded before processing
Ensure the prompt and timely payment of all suppliers using the relevant payment method
Input and reconcile all direct payments
Preparation of VAT payment documents and VAT refund sheets and send them to the Concerned office.
Prepare and consolidate financial statements for the year-end Audit and as a focal, make sure that the auditing process goes smoothly.
Assist Finance Manager and Finance and Operations Director in the preparation of payroll and other payments to employees.
Ensure that best practice has been followed in the procurement of all materials and services.
Maintain comprehensive asset registers for the Foundation and for each program.
Maintain up-to-date records of financial authorities, commitments, and internal controls.
Assist partner finance officers to fully comply with Organization Policies
Other tasks assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field.
A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
A minimum of two years of NGO work experience is mandatory.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
Peachtree Accounting or Quick Book application software is Desirable.
Outstanding analytical and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and Team player
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skill
