Job Title : Production Manager 

Reports to: Plant Manager

Department: Production 

Location: Adama Industrial Park, Adama

Job Summary: Overseeing the manufacturing process and making sure the production  lines are running smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with supervisors and maintenance team for planning, setting the targets and making sure the finished products meet quality standards. Developing new methods utilize resources like machine, material and manpower to meet the organizational goals while remaining within the budget limitations.

Responsibilities

• Managing the production process, develop and execute production schedules based on business demands

• Determining the machines, the number of manpower’s to be used and the production sequence to to produce multi-line products within planned schedules while reducing costs

• Lead, develop and evaluate production staff to make sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality

• Ensure safe work environment through implementation of safety awareness programs and compliance with environmental and statutory norms

• Ensuring all necessary materials and production requirement consumables are available all times;

• Organizing the repair and maintenance of production equipment

• Monitoring all stages of production, analyzing current methods and developing new ways to save steps, time and materials in order to reduce costs.

• Facilitate meetings for KPI’s performance evaluation, gaps identification and implementation of action plans to close the gaps;

• Study and propose new ideas that can lead to improvements in the production operation and contribute to the profitability of the firm

• Prepare and deploy to department level production budget and ensure production budget is in line with indications from business needs;

• Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including HR, technique, distribution and management

Job Requirements

Required competencies:

• Experience of managing a team in a plastic recycling environment is preferred

• Proven record of identifying innovative technical solutions

• Experience of building strong working relationships with all stakeholders both internally and externally

• Ability to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines

• Excellent communication

• Fluent in Afan oromo, Amharic and English

Qualification:

• BSc Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Applied Chemistry, and/or related field of studies.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in production process preferably in  plastic recycling industry out of which 2 years in a managerial position
