Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine. Samaritan’s Purse is privileged to be part of the humanitarian effort in Ethiopia and legally registered as foreign charity to work in Ethiopia since October 08, 2018.
JOB SUMMARY
The Procurement Coordinator is responsible to work closely with Country Procurement department, as well as field-based staff and finance for the procurement of all materials and services required for SP Ethiopia (SPE) programs and reports to the Program Manager. Provide hands on support for the proper implementation of the Logistics policies and procedures per SP manual across the program area to ensure effective performance of the program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that SP minimum standards of logistics procedures are introduced and adhered
Develop the procedures and policies for the management of the supply chain, vehicle fleets, communication systems and emergency preparedness.
Deliver the program supply chain by setting up of effective order management systems
Oversee SP warehouse and commodity management in the field office.
Ensure local and national level procurement practices are compliant with SP and donor regulations.
Manage the operations budget; ensure the field office is well maintained, equipped and maintained with adequate supplies and support.
Ensure national transportation of freight by land is in line with program budgets
Ensure management of vehicle fleets and ensure appropriate allocation and safe use of vehicles, motor bikes and boats throughout the program and ensure servicing and maintenance schedules are adhered to.
Ensure stock management and administration systems are implemented.
Monitor projects stock levels and advise on appropriate stocking and replenishment to meet project demands.
Manage the program communication systems ensuring that all program locations have appropriate and reliable means of communication.
Maintain a asset register; ensuring that all program assets are logged
Ensure smooth execution of distribution process.
Report progress on weekly basis to Head of office and Operations Manager.
Ensure weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports are prepared and shared with Operations Manager on.
Any other duties as assigned
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Bachelor’s degree Logistics and procurement or related field of study
A Minimum 5 years of logistics, procurement, supply chain experience
LANGUAGE
Amharic and English (spoken and written required)
Somali languages strongly desired
