Job Description

The Consultant Finance Manager will be expected to work under the guidance and supervision of the Finance Director. She/He is responsible for establishing, supervising, managing and monitoring overall JSI DUP financial systems for the period mentioned on the contract. He/She will work in close coordination with the Finance Director, Finance Officer, and the Operation team in maintaining the accounting system, internal controls and financial management. He/She also works closely with the technical team by supporting and making sure that all the JSI policy and procedures are maintained.

 The specific activities they are expected would be:

  • Following the monthly cash flow status of the project, prepare cash flow requests as per JSI requirement once or twice per month according to the project need.

  • Prepare monthly budget tracking using the QB data

  • Will be responsible to prepare monthly payroll for staff according to the standard of JSI policies and time schedule.

  • In collaboration with the Finance Officer prepares monthly submissions of Quick book and uploads the soft copy into field Link and sends the copy to the Home office. Follow any feedback from the home office and field link  about quick books and address them properly and on time.

  • In collaboration with the Finance officer and check all payments and other related transactions accuracy, completeness and have full supporting documentations.

  • In collaboration with the Operation team check and ensure the procurement of equipment, Material & supplies is in accordance with JSI policies and procedures and Operation manual and the completeness of documentation.

  • Collaborating with Technical team he/she will make frequent contact about trainings/workshop to make sure they are severed as expected

  • Supervise and closely monitor FO on the status and reconciliation of travel and workshop advances

Job Requirements

  • Degree or above in Accounting and Finance, commerce or related field.

  • More than four years of progressive work experience in the area especially in payroll administration and management.

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with INGO environment.

  • Able to work independently under a minimal supervision

  • Skilled in organizing, tracking, and monitoring resources and establishing priorities.

  • Ability to gather data, compile and synthesize information, and prepares reports.

  • Strong skills in Quick book, Word processing and Excel.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information

  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required.
