As Mining Engineer, you have the responsibilities to overseeing mining operations at our mine site. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and productive extraction of mineral resources while adhering to environmental regulations and company policies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and best practices. Implement and enforce safety policies to minimize accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards.

• Ensures that the Mine Operations closely follow authorized designs, standards and technologies and makes sure that specifications, work instructions, and process flows which detail the specific procedures for the company’s mine operations are adhered.

• Oversee day-to-day mining operations to achieve production targets within specified timeframes. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and implement improvements where necessary. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs without compromising safety or quality.

• Collaborate with the mine manager to design efficient mining layouts and schedules, optimizing productivity and the extraction of the mineral resources. Allocate resources, including equipment, personnel, and materials, to ensure smooth mining operations.

• Ensures necessary geotechnical and geochemical techniques are applied to generate scientific information and retained in the Mine Operations to calculate and appraise ore reserve with the appropriate software so as to optimize the pit, design access roads, determine sequence of mining benches and plan to catch up with the waste rock backlog.

• Coordinate responses to emergencies and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

• Ensure that mining activities adhere to environmental regulations and permit requirements.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Geology, or a related field.

Work Experience: minimum of 5 years of extensive experience in mining operations.

Other requirements

• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and industry best practices.

• Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards related to mining activities.

• Communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.

• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to address operational challenges effectively.

• Proven track record of meeting production targets and optimizing mining operations.

• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and handle high-pressure situation.

• The ability to use basic software tools and learn new programs that will be used for mine planning is an advantage.
