Job Description

ASDEPO’s mission is works to improve the lives of the needy mothers, children, youths, and elders from first to last escalating their access to health and education services, supporting income generation and improving the natural environment, using a holistic and participatory loom.

ASDEPO is a local Civil Society Organization that has been working in all Regions of Ethiopia towards ensuring the poorest and most vulnerable and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental rights of life, including but not limited to adequate shelter, food and livelihoods, water and sanitation, nutrition, healthcare and education. ASDEPO implements a range of multi-sectorial development, resilience, recovery and humanitarian responses Programmes by being sensitive to cross-cutting issues. 

The Accountability, Compliant, and Feedback officer will be responsible to ensure the organization complaints and feedback mechanism is in placed in the project coverage area, the Staff and community are sensitized on organization complaints response mechanism. In addition he/she shall have regular monitoring of the project activities in the field to ensure the activities are implemented according to the detailed implementation plan, the process followed and the input distribution made in effective manner. The Accountability, Compliant, and Feedback officer will help and support internal and external monitoring visits / missions and will provide regular updates to the management. Besides, he/she will lead and or assist any data collection process, PDM and assessment carrying out in field.

Major Duties and responsibilities:

Establish and manage the complaint and feedback mechanism for the WFP project.

Assess existing community capacity and mechanisms that can be used to set up information sharing processes, complaints, and feedbacks for the Dimma field office.

Work with other ASDEPO staff in collecting and recording complaints and feedbacks; lessons learned and good practices for effective knowledge management.

Provide timely reports to the project coordinator and ASDEPO MEAL unit of head office.

Build staff awareness and commitment to a complaints mechanism, ensuring that all SOPs and ASDEPO core values are respected.

 Receive complaints and feedback and respond to enquiries at the complaint desk at program sites.

 Ensure regular the availability of complaints and feedback database/ information System and ensure information is shared on a regular basis.

Follow-up and receive weekly feedback, and case status progress related to the internal cases referred to the projects. Ensure all documents and actions taken are documented, and feedback is given back to the beneficiary.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required that may be assigned from supervisors.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working in a humanitarian/refugee on accountability.

  • Experience on data collection/ analysis tools including Excel, Kobo/others.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Social Research, Protection/Data management or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in accountability especially feedback mechanisms concepts.

  • Previous experience of working with NGOs.

  • Experience in implementation of accountability and complaints reporting mechanisms in Ethiopia.

  • Experience in developing and/or managing complaints reporting mechanisms for GFD programs.
