Job Description

ASDEPO’s mission is works to improve the lives of the needy mothers, children, youths, and elders from first to last escalating their access to health and education services, supporting income generation and improving the natural environment, using a holistic and participatory loom.

ASDEPO is a local Civil Society Organization that has been working in all Regions of Ethiopia towards ensuring the poorest and most vulnerable and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental rights of life, including but not limited to adequate shelter, food and livelihoods, water and sanitation, nutrition, healthcare and education. ASDEPO implements a range of multi-sectorial development, resilience, recovery and humanitarian responses Programmes by being sensitive to cross-cutting issues. 

The post holder will be tasked with facilitating, monitoring, supervising, and coordinating smooth operations which include stock management and Hygiene and sanitation management. The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring proper reporting, and coordination, monitoring supervision.

 Major Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the School Feeding activities at Dimma field office of Okugo refugee camps and the host community.

  • Monitoring supervising and ensure SFP SOP guide line are used accordingly for food supplies cooking and serving for the Student.

  • Ensure effective management of the cooks, cleaners and the school feeding activities making sure     that their weekly tasks are achieved.

  • Ensure the food hygiene through washing the kitchen, dining room, kitchen clean and the floors dry, supervision on the cooks and monitor cooker to meet the standard of hygiene

  • Timely reporting any gaps, including stock out of commodities.

  • Facilitate and ensure all cooks have medical evaluation/certificate before hiring and within at least every 6 months.

  • Conduct commodities balance on weekly basis by using GRN/STV and report to project coordinator.

  • Participate on monthly camp coordination meeting and sharing monthly updates to participants and take action on the action points raising in the project activities.

  • Compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports in order to support operational decision-making in Okugo refugee camp.

  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices and SOPs to be shared from WFP, RRS, and Food/nutrition clusters.

Job Requirements

Education: 

  • MSc/MBA/BA Degree Social Protection, Social Sciences, Nutrition, or Project Management.

Experience: 

  • At least five years of progressively responsible support experience in School feeding programs, nutrition, emergency response related programmes at least one year in refugee camps.
