Addis Pride Academy is looking for a competent and able School Principal that meets the requirement stated below:

Duties and Responsibilities

Educational Program Management

• Symbolize, advocate for and execute Addis Pride Academy’s mission, vision and strategic plan;

• Actively takes part in planning, organizing and directing the implementation of all school activities;

• Make sure that the yearly plan, weekly lesson plans and daily lesson plans are prepared and implemented in accordance with the Addis Pride Academy policy;

• Foster participatory leadership, shared decision making and coordination among Addis Pride Academy staff;

• Monitors the implementation of education program in responsive ways to children, teachers, & community in line with Addis Pride Academy principles, values and strategic plan;

• Responsible to arrange and coordinate capacity building for teachers, PTAs on safe learning environment, disability inclusion/ inclusive teaching and child protection;

• Ensure that teachers have the required skills to deliver play based interactive teaching and positive disciplining through training and coaching.

Operation Leadership Management

• Oversees and leads the development of school calendar;

• Supervise the day-to-day operation of the school;

• Supervise improvement of teaching and learning process by reviewing the goals and objectives of instructional process along with staffs;

• Strengthen team spirit and teamwork within Addis Pride Academy staffs;

• Assess the community expectation and

• Work with other schools and institutions in a professional manner;

• Keep the general manager informed about the school activities and problems.

Job Requirements

Essential:

• BA/BEd in Educational Planning and Management/Leadership or related field;

• Training in educational leadership, human resource management and special need;

• Knowledge of educational theories and approaches;

• Knowledge of laws and directives applicable to private schools;

• Highly developed organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills including negotiation, coaching and influencing;

• Ability of strong communication skills both in English, Amharic and Afan Oromo

• High level of good team work ability

Experience:

• A minimum of three to five years of experience in working as school principal/director in private schools;

• Experience of mentoring and developing staff;

• Experience of working with linguistically and culturally diverse community;

• International School experience will be advantageous;

• FEMALE applicants are highly encouraged!
