Job Description
Purpose:
EHS Manager is responsible to implement and maintain local & global EHS Programs and management systems in the organization and to ensure that continuous improvement programs are implemented locally and that improvements related to EHS are sustained.
Implements Global EHS initiatives within the organization. Prepares implementation and then ensures that all required elements of the ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001 systems are in place and working effectively. Strives to achieve the financial and operational goals quantified in the Factory’s Business Plan. Ensures compliance with relevant JTI and regulatory standards.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
EHS Risk Management
Responsible for understanding EHS risks relevant to the organization. Ensure that appropriate control measures are known and implemented in order to maintain a healthy and safe workplace and eliminate any environmental risk.
EHS Standards and Programs
Responsible for coordinating implementation of global EHS strategy, standards, objectives, programs and develop local EHS programs in the organization to contribute:
creating safe work place & safety culture in the organisation
increasing safety competency of the employees
meeting with EHS related KPIs.
Compliance
Responsible for knowing legal EHS requirements applicable to the organization and ensure that the organization is compliant with these requirements.
Training, Competencies & Safety Culture
Responsible for providing EHS leadership, promote a positive safety culture, actively demonstrate commitment to EHS and take actions to continuously improve health and safety performance. Ensures that safety methods are developed and all employees receive appropriate EHS trainings.
EHS Management Systems
Responsible for full implementation of ISO 14001 and 45001 management systems in the organization. Ensure management systems effectiveness in line with relevant standards.
Responsible for participating in Global EHS team to develop strategies, targets and programs applicable in JTI factories.
Budget Management
Responsible for managing EHS budgets (GSC & Markets) and implementing EHS programs within the budget. When it is necessary, he is responsible to prioritize implementation of EHS programs considering EHS risks of the organisation, legal requirements and bussiness requirements.
People management
Recruit, motivate and guide the professional development of the team reporting directly and indirectly to the incumbent.
Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request.
People Management:
To lay down and execute management policies for the department he/she is assigned.
Upon obtaining appropriate authorization, to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, dismiss or assign employees reporting to him/her
Supports subordinates in the performance of their duties and ensures that they receive proper instructions, training, necessary information and developmental opportunities, and also evaluates their work.
Other:
Performs other tasks of the direct supervisor within the framework of the work process and within the limits of his competence.
Education:
Degree in Environment and Health Science or Engineering
Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS sphere
