Purpose statement: - To define the scope of responsibility for project heads that will be driving capital investment projects that are aimed to deliver business objects as set out in project briefs targeted to specific area incorporating basic Project Management Principles for effectiveness of projects.

Responsibility: - ·  

• Translate the high-level business and technical requirements (captured in the charter) to define the project scope with major deliverables.

• ·   Leverage the learning from existing standards, and ensure that applicable product and process standards are used in the project

• ·   Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the project

• ·   Identify the relevant project activities required to produce the project deliverables as identified in the Work Breakdown Structure

• Develop the integrated project schedule with critical path.

• Establish a cost estimate with the level of accuracy required for AFCE approval; based on current market condition and best of technical expertise.

• Define the project execution, monitoring, controlling and close-out plan (Safety, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources)

• Develop and get sign off on communication and stakeholder management plan.

• Based on project risk profile identified define the Risk Management Plan (Risk Evaluation, Mitigation, Response and Responsibility)

• Consolidate the information developed during the planning phase in the project management plan and obtain sign off by steering committee.

• Liaise with Wilmar project support office to define critical technical details.

• Develop BOQ for contractor selection and conduct technical assessment of bid documents.

•  Validate technical competence of contractors.

Execute ·  

• Direct and manage the project civil works as defined in the project management plan to achieve project objectives.

• Deliver operational preparation, product validation and line performance qualification that demonstrate a project performance as specified.

• Supervise and monitor quality of civil projects.

Monitor and Control·  

• Control schedule, scope and cost by monitoring the status of project activities and manage changes to the project baseline.

•  Document outcome in a bi/monthly progress report and publish in the project dashboard.

• · Analyze and manage the risks based on the risk management plan

• Verify that project work and deliverables meet the project success criteria, and formally validate deliverables acceptance at each workflow milestone/gate.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification and Experiences. 

• BSc Degree in Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent Degree

• 8 years’ experience in a similar role within construction project management environment

Skill and Competency 

• Good understanding of project management principles and ability to interpret and implement these principles.

• Planning skill
