Job Description
Dan Church Aid (DCA) is a Denmark-based international NGO registered under certificate # 1083 by the Authority for Civil Society Organizations and working to improve the wellbeing of particularly the rural and pre-urban people in Ethiopia. DCA’s Programme mainly focus on save live, building resilience and fighting inequality targeting highly disaster-prone areas in Oromia, Amhara, Afar, and Gambella regions.
Currently, the DCA Ethiopia Office is looking for a competent Community Development Facilitator. The Community Development Facilitator Organize and mobilize DCA’s target beneficiaries at very grass roots level and provide site level support for implementation of DCA project in Gambella.
Position Objective
Organize and mobilize DCA’s target beneficiaries at very grass roots level and provide site level support for implementation of DCA project in Gambella.
Purpose
The Community Development Facilitator will engage fully in the day-to-day implementation of DCA’s projects, in Gambella region refugee camp and host communities.
Perform all community facilitation activities in the field, included assessment, selection, and distribution.
Engagement
Organize and facilitate community level tools such as FGDs and other PRA tools.
Collect information relevant to project planning process directly from the field.
Mobilize host communities and refugees for various purpose.
Engage and work with host community and refugees CB structures and traditional institution.
Identify community gap, risks, challenges, and report on them immediately.
Organize and manage distribution of items.
Participate in post distribution monitoring.
Recommend to the project team seasonal population changes.
Provide day-day site level support to beneficiaries and seek technical support when need arises.
Organize community groups and maintain positive relationship.
Delivery
Ensure community level issues and concerns are included in the planning.
Ensure project implementation activities are in line with community norms, culture, and value system.
Disseminate information pertinent to the project implementation to the project implementation to refugees and host community.

Qualifications:
The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
Minimum of any Relevant Vocational Training and more than four years of relevant experience related to the above-mentioned tasks.
Has direct field experience preferably in emergency settings with NGOs/humanitarian actors.
Good Knowledge of the emergency operations in Ethiopia
Good report writing skills and computer skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of the operational context and Local language is advantageous.
