Position: Liaison Officer - Operation

The liaison officer is part of the Operations team, which focuses on providing operation support services in the countries, to ensure the availability and quality of procurement, administration, logistics, IT, legal and/ or HR to fully support SNV operations.
The liaison officer ensures effective information exchange, collaboration, and understanding between different entities, with the aim of achieving SNV's overall objective and resolving issues.
Reviews and delivers (specialized) operational services, within guidelines and procedures. Provides support to the operations team, to provide consistent operational processes for the projects. This is related to one or more of the operation support services: procurement, administration, logistics, IT, legal, and/ or HR.
1. Liaison
Facilitate the day-to-day liaison activities with embassies, NGOs and government organizations.
Ensure accurate process on activity related to work permit, visa and renewal of licenses as required.

Communicates with concerned government organizations to secure visas, work permits and other assignments.
2. Customs Clearing
Processes and obtain duty-free status and facilitate all necessary documents for clearance to clear goods from abroad including personal effects.
Work with the procurement team on receiving and clearing items.
Support clearance of expatriate personal effects when coming and going out of the country.
3. Vehicle-related Assignment
Collaborate with fleet and warehouse team on making vehicle annual inspections and insurance.
Follow-up accident reports with the insurance company.
Properly archives and document all relevant documentation.
4. Other
Liaise with the Security Coordinator for any safety requirement in the placement of firefighting equipment and other safety-related policies and procedures.
Work with the line manager and asset focal person on any leased property/asset-related issues and work to resolve them.
Report weekly and monthly reports.
Bachelor’s degree in administration, Management, Business Administration, Logistics and office management Background or other relevant field required.
A minimum relevant experience of 4 to 5 years in general operation, admin and liaison work.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Excel, word, outlook, and Access.
Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative style.
Organized, able to multi-task and prioritize the daily workload.
Ability to recognize and create opportunities and to act accordingly.
Additional Information
Contract Type: National
Expected start date: November 1, 2023.
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Contract Duration: One year with the possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability.
