Job Description

The Opportunity

 The SRHR Officer is responsible for designing, and implementing all emergency and recovery Health related activities at the local level using participatory and community-based approaches. S/he is also responsible to provide surge technical support and guidance at the local level to Wereda health office experts and other staff working in the area of MHPSS and SRHR areas. S/he is also responsible for compiling progress reports, documentation, and sharing best practices and lessons learned in health and health-related areas 

 Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

·       Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

Ensures that all staff signed safeguarding policies;

Job Requirements

The Individual

 Qualifications/ Experience Essential:

  •  Health/psychological BSC degree and other relevant fields of study

  • Minimum over 3 years relevant experience and with this at least 1year relevant experience in an international NGO or similar organization Knowledge of policy and practice in the field of emergency nutrition intervention, MHPSS, IYCF, and health.

  • Experience in developing and monitoring the performance of the project including budget management

  • Computer literate in word processing and Excel packages.

  • An understanding of child rights and their protection and fulfilment in the development context.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; both in English & Amharic

 Desirable

  • Experience on pastoral community in particular in emergency project is an advantageous.
