Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC previously known as Kadisco Chemical Industry Plc is a privately owned company located in Addis Ababa in the Akaki Kality Industrial Zone area. Kadisco is a company that traces its origins back from a small automotive parts dealership that was operating in one of the busy streets of Addis Ababa back in late 60’s. During the period until 1975 it had the opportunity to act as the sole distributor for Sadoline Paints. In 1979 it was registered as the sole company to manufacture adhesives and glue. By stages, the company developed into a diversified paint manufacturer.

In February 2015, Asian Paints Ltd and Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC formed a joint venture for business in Ethiopia and came to be known as Kadisco Asian paints. Asian Paints is India’s leading paint company and Asia’s second largest, with a group turnover of USD 2.7 billion. The group has an enviable reputation in the corporate world for professionalism, fast track growth, and building shareholder equity. Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint manufacturing facilities in the world servicing consumers in over 65 countries.

Today the company produces a full range of paints for the construction, industrial and automotive sectors. It also produces wood and concrete lacquers as well as adhesives for the wood and leather industry.

 Position Summary

Administration Manager is responsible for key result areas including upkeep and management of factory premises including housekeeping services, security, plant and building maintenance, waste disposal, managing welfare activities like transport, canteen, and liaising with various government and other authorities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that there is a smooth operational condition at the factory.

  • Make sure that any unrest or grievances are handled in a stable and effective manner.

  • Ensure that welfare and benefits are compliant with standard norms.

  • Make sure that working activities are not adversely affected by the external environment, such as political or legal situations.

  • Ensure that a conducive work atmosphere is built.

  • Ensure that the relationship with external stakeholders is effective and there are no information gaps concerning the same.

  • Manage all administrative activities, such as booking hotels, tickets, and other travel-related services, as well as providing additional logistical support for staff members.

  • Clearance of bills and accurate recording of all administrative costs for corporate use.

  • Establishing ties with logistics and travel vendors to ensure smooth operations.

  • Arranging and following up on the immigration needs of employees and their families after obtaining the necessary approval.

  • In coordination with HR and other relevant agencies schedule and conduct worker check-ups and handle events such as document loss, accidents, etc.

  • Make sure that new and old fixed assets are recorded, have been given code, are covered by insurance, and managed, and inventory has been taken periodically.

  • Make sure that the security agency is properly safeguarding the company's assets and property.

  • Following up with the security supervisor to make sure his responsibilities are appropriately addressed

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience Requirements                                                                        

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 10 years of functional experience in a manufacturing environment and should have excellent, communication, leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Manufacturing and FMCG exposure are required.

  • Proficient in database and computer applications like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.

Additional Requirements

  • Superior attention to detail; skills such as analytic; critical thinking; problem-solving; multi-tasking abilities are required in addition to integrity, and honesty

  • Ability and willingness to work long hours and work with other staffs

  • Flexibility and ability to stay effective and motivated in a fast-changing environment.

  • Knowledge of local laws of the country

  • Should have good command in English (Oral and written)

  • Must be a good team player.

  • The incumbent should be dynamic, well organized, self-driven & have a good personality

  • Able to work under pressure and complete the task within a preset time frame

  • Good in grievance Handling, contract management, administration management, and liaison
