Job Summary:

The IT Officer will monitor and maintain the computer systems, software, and networks of the organization including regional sites. The IT Officer also diagnoses hardware and software faults and solves the technical and application problems accordingly, either over the phone or in person.

 Duties and responsibilities:

• Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.

• Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.

• Support the implementation of new solutions or applications.

• Assess the capacity of the server, the connection speed, and other networking and recommend ideas to improve performance.

• Conduct daily network monitor and data backup operations.

• Dealing with staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.

• Set up new users' email accounts and profiles and deal with password issues.

• Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).

• Reviewing and writing recommendations of IT products for internal use.

• Familiar with Peachtree Accounting or similar software.

• Performing electrical safety checks on the company’s computer equipment.

• Replacing Hardware parts by dealing with third parties as required.

• Liaising with government offices in relation to telecom services.

• Performs any other related duties as required.

Competences

• Must be able to work under pressure, and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

• Familiar with Peachtree Accounting or similar software

• Willing to travel

• Desire to be involved in ERP implementation and other software systems

• Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products

• Good communication skills both in Amharic & English

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirement

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, Computer software, or similar field of study

• Willing to travel to different regional sites

Experience

• 1-2 years

• Experience with companies with different branches is preferable

• Peachtree or ERP knowledge is advantageous
