Dodai Manufacturing Plc (Dodai), is a recently incorporated organization launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on August 01, 2023. Dodai is a fast growing organization with a mission of making e-mobility accessible to everyone in Africa through its innovative products and services. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa and plans to expand to major regional cities in Ethiopia by the end of 2024. It’s thus looking to engage dynamic Ethiopian talent to ensure the achievement of its goals. 

Purpose of the Position

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting all aspects of the supply chain, from sourcing, negotiating, and managing the purchase of goods or services  to the delivery of finished goods to customers. He/she works with suppliers, manufacturers, transportation companies, and retailers to ensure that goods are delivered on time, within budget, and in the correct condition. S/He is also responsible for coordinating the import process of goods into the country, from start to finish. He/she works with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping line, insurance, bank, custom and transportation companies to ensure that goods are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.

  • Work with suppliers to get the best possible price for the company's products or services.

  • Ensure that the company's products or services meet the required quality standards.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with product or services required, such as supply chain disruptions or price volatility.

  • Determine the most efficient route for shipments, book transportation, and coordinate with suppliers and retailers to ensure that goods are delivered on time.

  • Obtain quotes for freight forwarding, arrange shipments with suppliers, taking into account the cost and the time it will take for the goods to arrive, and the compliance with all regulations.

  • Communicate with customs and freight forwarding companies to ensure that the goods are cleared through customs and delivered to the company's warehouse or distribution center on time and in good condition.

  • Prepare and file all necessary customs documentation for the import of goods

  • Track and update on the shipment of goods from the supplier to the company's warehouse or distribution center.Notify the appropriate parties proactively if there are any delays or problems.

  • Take lead on investigating and resolving any import-related issues that may arise with shipments, customs clearance, transportation delays, damage to goods during transit or inventory. .

  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Update routine reports which help informed decision making. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field

  • 2 years of professional experience in procurement, logistics, category management or/and import prefered 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and documentation

  • Ability to speak and write English fluently

  • Have ambition to proceed his/her career in logistics 

  • Proficient in Excel  Microsoft Office applications.

  • Effective communication skills.
