RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational
Conduct of training needs assessments to establish priority needs and gaps.
Development of learning and development plans, goals, and objectives for capacity building programs based on identified gaps and priorities
Planning and scheduling of capacity building activities in consultation with key stakeholders in line with the 70.20.10 model
Design and develop capacity-building curriculum and learning materials in close collaboration with line management, CoEs and P&C Business Partners
Organize and deliver/co-facilitate core and advanced training and capacity building activities consistent based on need
Research, identify and develop appropriate training packages on emerging tools and innovative technologies that enhance ability for effective utilization of learning tools;
Develop or identify training content and/or supporting reference resources such as presentations, practical exercises, and handouts to facilitate learning;
Conduct pre-training, in-training, and post-training evaluations for feedback address challenges and impediments to effective learning, document and share lessons learned;
Ensure consistency and standardization of activities and material where possible;
Facilitate staff's ability to use existing and emerging technology to achieve the organization's mission and objectives;
Train and provide technical support to the identified staff as needed on all Information Management tools and processes;
Provide mentorship and support within the scope of the WVE capacity/learning & development building plan
Explore & propose e-learning software and design integrate modules that allow increased reach and availability of materials for all levels of the workforce
Supports the day-to-day management of the learning IT systems (Workday, Power-BI, WV eCampus etc)
Utilizes the Performance Learning Management System and other learning platforms to support planning and implementation of leader led learning & development activities.
Undertake research on a range of issues related to portfolio support and provide content for notes/reports including quarterly and year-end reports for monitoring, statistical and review purposes by management.
New Hire Orientation
Support the revision and redesign of a people focused strategic new hire orientation program and policy
Coordinate the implementation of the strategic new hire orientation in line with WVI standards
Partner with stakeholders to reduce onboarding time & scale up results
Ensure the completion of WVI mandatory courses for new hires and maintain accurate status update in Power Bi
Maintain a HelpDesk facility to assist new hires with questions or queries ensuring they have access to information need to start working
Assist the P&C Business Partners to coordinate the relocation and redeployment of employees.
Actively gathering and processing feedback from new recruits on the onboarding process and recommending improvements where require
Performance Management
Coach, train and support line managers and staff to effectively implement P4P process
Develop innovative strategies that create a culture of excellence in by line managers and their staff.
Support and coach P&C Business Partners to effectively support their clients throughout all stages of the performance management process.
Support in creating digital learning assets that contribute to organizational effectiveness in learning & development
Contribute to the design and implementation and of effective Recognition Programs to reward staff performance.
Talent and Leadership Development Management
Implement an organic organizational leadership framework and core competencies scorecard required to track and strengthen management capabilities in line with WVE strategy
Support in developing and maintaining tools in order to align organizational needs and gaps for managers
Support the development of a talent strategy that identifies and cultivate a talent pool for the organization of tomorrow organizational mindsets and behaviors;
Support the development of talent initiatives to foster succession planning and identify ‘high potential’ talent for longer term development planning
Support the L&D Manager to implement an effective talent review processes to ensure WVE has the capability required to drive future strategic goals
Contribute to talent identification, leadership recruitment and selection.
Networking & Collaboration
Builds and maintains personal technical knowledge in adult learning, instructional design, instructional technology, and training delivery by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Actively participates in new business activities, including proposal teams, in increasingly difficult roles and providing technical input related to training and development proposal efforts
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other L&D thought leaders in Ethiopia and elsewhere and enhance a culture of learning
Support L&D Manager in creating physical and electronic innovation hubs and platforms to share best practices with internal and external audience. (example of brownbag lunches, fireside chats etc)
Job Requirements
Required Professional Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing employee learning, development and training function.
Strong internal consulting skills, facilitation skills and communication skills with employees at all levels.
Project management experience
Knowledge and experience in e-learning systems
Excellent analytical and data gathering skills
Independently motivated, able to meet deadlines and proven ability to follow through on initiatives
Experience developing presentations and undertaking public speaking with skill and confidence.
Makes a strong personal impression on others.
Establishes good relationships with customers and staff.
Relates well to people at all levels.
Takes initiative, acts with confidence and works under own direction.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
BA Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Social sciences (or equivalent)
Knowledge and experience on Training of Trainers.
High-level working knowledge of MS Office applications, skilled across online and digital platforms and virtual learning environments
Experienced with the learning cycle and uses current best practice methods and innovative learning techniques
Experience having run train the trainers and coaching others in training and facilitating - coaching in house trainers
earning and development, certified professional in training management, learning and performance and similar course
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
Strong writing skills
Spiritual maturity, interfaith knowledge and a biblical worldview – Ability to articulate and model our Christian identity and mission in an inclusive way.
Demonstration of well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
