About the ACCELERATED LEARNING PROJECT
Luminos Fund launched a 2-year research project to evaluate and refine the current Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) starting from September 2021, with the endorsement of the Sidama National Regional State Education Bureau to create a fit-for-purpose prototype that can be more effectively scaled at the national level.
Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) project has produced a distilled curriculum and set of teaching and learning materials – a refined program playbook – which will be further implemented in a select number of classrooms in Sidama in the 2022-23 school year. To evaluate the performance of students selected for this refined pilot program, the project opted to conduct a baseline and endline EGRA/EGMA at the start and end of the 2023/24 school year with a sample of ALP students and a control group of students in mainstream government classrooms.
The overall purpose of this study is to conduct an EGRA/EGMA baseline to document and generate changes in learning gains with in the project implementation areas. The baseline findings/values provide information on strengths and area of improvements to gear the project achievements towards the project goal and objectives. The result of the assessment will be used as a tool to determine the status of children performance at all program operational sites and set baseline figures for the project indicators. The survey will be carried out in four districts (Hulla, Wonsho, Bona and Teticha) targeted about 40 schools of Sidama region in the project implementing sites.
BEES DEVELYTICS is subcontracted to conduct baseline and endline evaluation of the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) implemented by the Luminous Fund covering about 40 schools in four districts of Sidama National Regional State.
Currently, BEES DEVELYTICS is hiring professionals to conduct the baseline survey for the EGRA and EGMA of the ALP program.
Roles and responsibilities;
Lead the data processing activity and digitalization of tools (EGRA, EGMA, Classroom observation, Teachers interview, student background and school inventory)
Oversee the day-to-day activity of the data syncing process
Develop data entry templates and define range, skip and consistency checks, variable and value labels as appear in the questionnaires
Train regional coordinators, enumerators and supervisors on Tangerine tools use and syncing
Perform data quality assurance based on the operational manual
During the data collection process, check quality of data as it is uploaded to the Tangerine drive and follow up with field supervisors to resolve data discrepancies
Take data backup regularly on a high capacity hard-drive

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience;
A master’s degree in IT, statistics, sociology, anthropology, or related field
At least three years of experience conducting and/or coordinating qualitative data coding
Deep understanding of statistical parameters and analysis (regression, odds ratio and T or F test)
Good knowledge of and experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodology
Ability to train, evaluate, and oversee qualitative data coders
Good knowledge of qualitative data coding quality control issues and quality control techniques
Extensive experience using qualitative data analysis software programs such as R, SAS, STATA and NVivo or Atlas.ti., Google sheets and Google studio
Experience with Nvivo strongly preferred.
Good knowledge of MS Office applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic
Familiarity and experience with Nutrition and Health-related household surveys preferred
