Responsibilities of the Business Support Officer 

The Business Support Officer is responsible for a variety of operational tasks related to human resources, business development, and audit and inspections. These tasks include:

  • Recruitment and selection: Manage the recruitment and selection process, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.

  • Onboarding and training: Onboard new employees and provide them with orientation and training.

  • Compliance: Implement and maintain a compliance system.

  • Employee records: Update employee records in the ERP system.

  • Employment contracts and letters: Prepare employment contracts and letters.

  • ID and pension numbers: Facilitate the issuance of employee ID and pension numbers for permanent employees.

  • Performance reviews: Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to employees on their work.

  • Policies and procedures: Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.

  • Employee disputes: Mediate employee disputes and help to resolve conflicts between employees.

  • Labor relations: Stay up-to-date on employment laws and regulations.

  • Training and development: Provide training and development opportunities for employees.

  • Employee relations: Manage employee relations and create a positive and productive work environment.

  • Exit interviews: Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback from departing employees and identify areas for improvement.

  • Metrics and trends: Track employee metrics and trends to monitor the company's workforce and identify areas where it can improve.

  • Best practices: Identify and implement HR best practices.

  • Payroll: Preparing Payroll and bank Statements.

  • Audit and inspection: Supporting audit and inspection tasks, such as gathering evidence and preparing reports.

  • Business support: Supporting business development activities, such as identifying new business opportunities and developing marketing materials.

  • Perform any other tasks as requested by the company. 

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Management, Business Management, Human Resource Management, or related fields. 

  • At least one year of experience in human resource, business support or related areas. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Amharic and English.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

  • Willingness to learn ZERGAW's ERP software.

  • Passion for technology and learning new things.
