III. Key Functions / Responsibilities
Provide reliable and safe driving by driving office vehicles for the transport of UN staff members, high-ranking officials, and official visitors.
Makes deliveries of parcels, documents, etc., between the office and UN Organizations/ other offices and institutions, e.g., Ministries, Embassies, Permanent Missions, etc.
Support staff members and their dependents by facilitating the process of visas, identity cards, duty free-privileges, and other related documents in accordance with requirements of the United Nations and the National Government.
Receive shipments; undertake customs clearance processes, preparation of documents related to shipments and clearance, and follow up.
Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely checks of oil, tires, brakes, vehicle cleaning, and washing, etc.,
Ensure availability of all required documents/supplies for the assigned vehicle such as vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle,
Ensure that actions required by law, as well as UN rules and regulations, are taken in case of involvement in an accident,
Maintain proper records on repair and maintenance costs of the vehicle/s for review by senior management for budget preparation and quarterly review of annual cost plan and decision for items replacement.
Assist in providing information in the preparation of Annual Cost Plan/Revisions on office transportation/logistics support service.
Provide protocol and transport for high-level missions as and when required.
Liaise with officials/owners of local garages to obtain information with regard to the cost of parts, service charges, and better and up-to-date services.
Perform other related duties as required.

Safe and reliable transportation and protocol services to the Head of Office, staff members, UN Officials, and visitors and cost-effective operation of vehicles.

Job Requirement
Educational : Secondary Education, driver’s license, knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
Experience: Minimum four years’ Protocol and Driving experience, Knowledge of logistics and fleet management, and safe driving record.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English and the language of the duty station is required.
