Job Description
Head waiters, or head servers, attend to customers in restaurants, hotels and similar hospitality settings. Their job involves managing diners' food and beverage orders, providing service and taking payments
Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitoring dining area activities: Head waiters closely monitor all activities in the dining area. This includes food ordering, serving and related tasks.
Preparing menus: A head server handles the preparation of menus according to an organisation's guidelines and requirements. They consider the season, weather and customer preferences when planning menus.
Managing table settings: Head waiters supervise the table arrangements for customers. They ensure tables are neat and cutlery and glassware are in the correct places.
Training new employees: A head server trains new employees to familiarise them with the work requirements of the establishment. They show new servers the accepted behaviour, timing and work ethics to follow during their shifts.
Job Requirements:
Diploma/Certificate in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service or in a related field of study & with good hospitality skill and waitresses coordination
Experience:
2-5 years in a similar role
