Job Description

Hope enterprises, is a local Civil society organization which was stablished in 1971. As a pioneering national NGO, it has been serving the needy through transformational investment operating Seven branches and area projects in different regions and a university college in Addis Ababa City administration. HOPE involved in holistic human development with concrete interventions by ways of basic care, education, vocational training, job and business mediation and values development. The organization is looking for a qualified person who is a bel to build on what has already been achieved.

Hope Enterprises signed a contractual agreement to implement a project with other partner organizations. The project is called SEED and focuses on sustainable employment through entrepreneurship and business development with a nationwide anchoring of vocational training institutions. The organization is seeking two skilled manpower to be directly involved with the SEED Project and one (the third job holder) will work on the SEED Project and other Hope Enterprises projects.

Job summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of SEED project, which focuses on sustainable employment through entrepreneurship and business development with anchoring vocational training institution in country wide. The Project Manager will make all available efforts to ensure the successful implementation of the project and achieve its intended objectives. He/she is responsible for delivery of results in line with agreed project plan and objectives through planning, organizing and coordinating of the project activities, resources and all possible capacities. 

He /she will also strengthen and promote effective communication between with Hope Enterprises head office and SEED project staff, and partner organizations on over all operational support deem necessary for efficient project delivery /implementation.

 Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead in and ensure proper management of SEED project and enforcement of policies and guidelines within the project office.

  • Engaged in planning of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of SEED project.

  • Engaged in the preparation of proposal, concept note, reviewing them for maximum compliance with the set standards, with consultation of Head office, and ensure timely submission of partner organizations or any potential organization.

  • Net work with TVET institution, employers, and consortium members, and other actors in relation to SEED project.

  • Lead the identification of project implementation areas, TVET institutions, employers, types of trainings, business types, potential operational partnerships and related activities

  • Engage in building, promoting and maintaining effective and open communication links with all staff to ensure that there is a room for feedback.

  • Fellow up project agreements signing, technical evaluation and project extension cases with concerned bodies.

  • Collect and review regular and need based project reports and submit to relevant head office department, government office, and partners with the consultation of head office. 

Employment Type: Contract with SEED project period, depending on funding and performance

Job Requirements

5.1. Academic Qualification

  • Master’s Degree/ BA/BSC in Project Management, Technical and Vocational Management, Business Management, Economics, Development Economics, social work, and related

Work experience 

  • For Master’s degree 5 years’ experience in project management which is related technical and vocational training management, Job creation, Business development, and related. Out of these 2 years’ experience in management position. For BA/BSC 7 years’ experience in project management which is related technical and vocational training management, Job creation, Business development, and related. Out of these 4 years’ experience in management position.

Special training and additional requirements

  • Project cycle management, proposal writing, report writing, Microsoft (word, excel, PowerPoint) skill. 

  • Good knowledge of the country’s labor law, partnership management, Ethiopian technical and vocational training and job creation policy and strategy

  • Good interpersonal skill 

  • Respect the organization value 

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Amharic. Other Ethiopian language skill has an add advantage
