Inkomoko supports entrepreneurs to grow their businesses in order to improve livelihoods, create jobs, and help communities thrive and Inkomoko is a network of business development services and provides  a combination of training, consulting, access to finance, and market-level systems change and provides below market rate investment funds to support refugee and host community entrepreneurs in East Africa. 

This assignment will entail conducting surveys on the entrepreneurs as per the instruction, and Interview recruited entrepreneurs as part of INKOMOKOs activities as part of conducting recruitment/baseline for Cohort 3 in Jigjiga and Assosa, and cohiort 2 in Addis Ababa.

The Person who is recruited will be responsible for the following tasks:

•   Explain to Clients about INKOMOKO and its activities briefly.

•   Explain the objectives of the recruitment/baseline processes and their procedures to clients.

•  Conduct data collection in Kobo.

•    Interpret questions to assist people in understanding them and providing eloquent answers.

•    Double-check information on Kobo to ensure the accuracy of information before submission.

•    Identify and report any issues to supervisors that may arise while attempting to obtain valid data.

• Ensure that the supervisor is kept informed of completed assignments and progress.

•    Assist in the collection of data for monitoring and evaluation

•    Test survey questionnaires during training sessions

•    Download relevant applications on phone/tablet and use it to conduct a set number of interviews through phone interviews while adhering to AEC research guidelines and data quality protocol. 

•    Interview recruited entrepreneurs, fill the online questionnaire, and transmit verified forms on a daily basis. 

•    Make a report and document issues that arise during data collection and communicate them to the Team supervisor.r. 

•    Assist in any other tasks related to smooth delivery of the survey.

•  Ensure that the quality of data collected is high and easy to understand when received upon uploading. 

• Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.. 
  

Deadline: 5 working days after day of posting.

Duration of the assignment: Depending on the data collection completion and number of clients addressed.

Amount of Daily rate payment: 750 Birr for per diem, transport 150 Birr, Communication 100 Birr in Jigjiga.

Requirements and skills

• Data collection experience.

•   Basic computer skill or digital literacy.

• Experience in mobile data collection tools.

•   Strict attention to detail to collect and record data.

•  Language of the area of operation.

•   English, and Somali for Jigjiga Region.

•   Good Character and attitude in general terms.

•   Relevant training as a Census Enumerator.

• Hours of Work : 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday To Friday.

• Length of Contract: Number of days to complete the assignment is a maximum of 1 month.
