Software Project Manager Role

As our Software Project Manager, you will monitor budgets, schedule people and resources, motivate software developers, and ensure projects meet their goals and deadlines. Your duties also include writing project proposals and presenting them to customers, managers, and stakeholders. You are in charge of the planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and delivery of software and web projects. They ensure the successful completion of all software projects and also oversee the people performing work on the projects. 

Software Project Manager Responsibilities:

• Discussing potential projects and their parameters with clients, executives, and software developers.

• Planning out the blueprints for software projects, including defining the scope, allocating resources, setting deadlines, laying out communication strategies, and indicating tests and maintenance.

• Assembling and leading the project team.

• Participating in and supervising each stage of the project.

• Ensuring each project stays on schedule and adheres to the deadlines.

• Creating a project budget and ensuring the project adheres to the budget as closely as possible.

• Determining and overseeing consistent testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of all products in all stages of completion.

• Tracking milestones, deliverables, and change requests.

• Serving as a liaison to communicate information regarding changes, milestones reached, and other pertinent information.

• Delivering completed software products to clients and performing regular checks on the products' performance. Meeting with clients, management, and software developers to discuss projects and create project briefs.

Job Requirements

•  A bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.

• Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector.

• Good working knowledge of project estimation techniques.

• Good leadership, decision-making, and organization skills.

• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

• Meeting with clients, management, and software developers to discuss projects and create project briefs.

• Planning the scope, resources, budget, and timeline for software and web projects.

• Leading project teams and ensuring deadlines are met.

• Overseeing testing, analysis, and problem-solving.

• Liaising between parties on progress, alterations, and milestones.

• Presenting the final product, monitoring performance, and receiving feedback.

• Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.

• Proficiency with industry-standard software programs and applications is essential.

• The ability to balance the completion of independent work assignments with the management of a diverse staff.

• You must be highly self-motivated in order to drive projects forward and the ability to operate under tight deadlines.

• You also must use critical and analytical thinking to effectively solve problems.
