Duties & Responsibilities

• Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures

• Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements

• Setting up components for welding according to specifications

·         Carry out fabrication work in accordance with the workshop/fabrication method statements

• Ensure all materials used from stock are authorized and booked to the procedures

·         Use measuring equipment, oxy fuel/plasma cutting equipment, saws, punches and drilling machines, Deliver agreed production levels

·         Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems

• Distribute maintenance work to perform among workshop personnel

•  Prepare time frame for all work orders

•  Control and evaluate work discipline of the work shop personnel

•  Ensure all workshop activities are executed according to agreed time line

•  Ensure all necessary spare parts are available for the machine

• Ensure good housekeeping is present Work with the team to ensure that the recycling actions identified within the Environmental Plan are carried out

• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with the necessary specifications and that the Company quality monitoring procedures are adhered to

• Read engineering drawings and produce quality, heavy fabrications to tight tolerances

Job Requirements

Diploma in general mechanics from a Polytechnic or a Technique & Vocational School with 2 years’ work experience
