Shayashone PLC is an emerging business engaged in agribusiness advisory/consultancy services, manufacturing and distribution, commercialization of social impact products, and import and export. Recently, the company has expanded its portfolio to the education sector on a project with a development organization.
Short Description of the Position
Shayashone PLC is looking for a Senior Agribusiness Expert who will be in charge of managing projects under the consultancy business function. Our consulting portfolios mainly focus on developing/implementing different value chain projects, private sector capacity building, investment and public-private partnership models advisory, project management, and research on different topics in agriculture and agribusiness. Currently, we are looking for a competent Senior Agribusiness Expert to lead the consultancy business function. The expert reports to the General Manager and will be based in Addis Ababa. S/he will be traveling to different places within the country.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Project Management and Coordination
Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring projects under the consulting unit.
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Take an active role in facilitating project-related stakeholders’ meetings.
Manage relationships with clients and all stakeholders in relation to each project.
Proactively communicate with the management on potential issues that need attention on each project.
Research and Documentation
Responsible for leading short-term action research.
Develop compressive high-standard technical reports based on research findings and analyses.
Supervise the young experts within the consultancy team and review their product work to keep quality.
Responsible for project acquisitions and proposal development.
Play an active role in bringing new potential clients/ partners.
Develop new products such as agribusiness training, and social impact product commercialization.
Manage Client Relationship
Manage relationships with clients and all stakeholders in relation to each project.
Ensure customer satisfaction and retention for long-term business relations.
Manage all communications with partners and facilitate discussion as and when needed.
Collect regular customers’ feedback and develop ways the consulting business unit can be improved.
Coaching, Training, and organizing
Act as a team driver with consulting business units and beyond to build shared vision and objectives in order to achieve the required results and synergies.
Responsible for direct supervision of 4-5 FTEs.
Act as lead and/or support for key people processes such as recruitment and induction, training and development, performance management, benefit and compensation, and employee relationships for the consulting business unit.
Introduce different team building programs and provide leadership by example, on-the-job coaching, training, and development that enhance capacities and synergies of consultancy team and beyond.

Technical Competencies
Proven track record in product and business development.
Outstanding in organizing, analysing, and interpreting data and developing strategies and business plans.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint packages.
Sound understanding of working practices in PLC
Detail understanding of the Ethiopian agriculture and business development sector

Preferred Age Range: 28 - 40 years

Education, Work Experience, and Language
Master’s or equivalent in agribusiness, business administration, agricultural economics, economics, rural development, and other related fields.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in business development, project management, agri-business, market development, and community organization.
Proficiency in spoken and written English languages is a must.
Preference is given to people who have first-hand experience in the private sector working in agricultural business.
