Short Description of the Company
Shayashone is an emerging business engaged in agribusiness advisory/consultancy services, manufacturing and distribution, commercialization of social impact products, and import and export. Recently, the company has expanded its portfolio to the education sector on a project with a development organization.
Short Description of the Position
Shayashone PLC is looking for a Project Officer who will support in managing projects under the consultancy business function. Our consulting portfolios mainly focus on developing/implementing different value chain projects, private sector capacity building, investment and public-private partnership models advisory, project management, and research on different topics in agriculture and agribusiness. The officer reports to the General Manager and will be based in Addis Ababa. S/he will be traveling to different places within the country.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Project Coordination
Responsible for supporting in planning and implementing project activities.
Take an active role in facilitating project-related stakeholders’ meetings.
Manage relationships with clients and all stakeholders in relation to each project.
Proactively communicate with the management on potential issues that need attention on each project.
Research and Documentation
Collaborate on short-term action research.
Collaborate on technical reporting and data analysis.
Collaborate in the process of project acquisitions and proposal developments.
Participate in developing new products such as agribusiness training, and social impact product commercialization.
Manage Client Relationship
Ensure customer satisfaction and retention for long-term business relations.
Collect regular customers’ feedback and develop ways the consulting business unit can be improved.
Leadership and Management Competences
Excellent communication skills in Amharic and English.
Outstanding diplomatic, influence, and persuasion skills to sell products and services.
Mastery in demonstrating personal effectiveness and delivering results.
Outstanding skills in planning, organizing, and reporting.
Strong ability to organize communities.
Strong analytical and critical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Champions in fostering partnership and stakeholder relationships.
Ability to perform under stress with minimal supervision and able to handle multiple tasks at a time in a calm and organized manner.
Hands-on and pro-active approach.
Technical Competencies
Outstanding in organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint packages.
Understanding of working practices in PLC.
Understanding of the Ethiopian agriculture and business development sector.

Preferred Age Range: 22-32 years

Education, Work experience, and Language
Bachler or equivalent in agribusiness, rural development, agricultural economics, economics, business administration, and other related fields.
At least 2 years of experience in business development, agri-business, project management, market development, and community organization.
Proficiency in spoken and written English languages is a must.
Preference is given to people who have first-hand experience in the private sector working in the agricultural business.
