Job Description
Primarily overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, integrating finance operations, forecasting and budgeting, handling tax matters, preparing financial reports, and ensuring organizational financial stability follow-up financial activities vs sales progress of a company. revolve around managing different teams, setting goals and guidelines, performing audits, coordinating staff, and developing strategies to optimize finance operations. They must also resolve issues and concerns, produce progress reports, and implement solutions against vulnerable areas.
Establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
Managing Income, Expenditure, sales, payroll and stocks.
Ensure adequate BG/CPO is in place that enable smooth transaction with Safaricom
Formulating strategic decisions and formulating business strategies and offering professional judgment on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance.
Maintain appropriate inventory/ stocks controls system
Risk management and ensuring Internal controls are adhered to, also ensures the efficient use of resources.
Safeguarding tangible and intangible assets.
Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verifies documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies. Ensures compliance of all tax requirements.
Ensuring that all accounting records and systems are in place and are systematic and workable.
Ensures that all accounting records are kept and are accurate and readily available.
Track all company expenses and ensure that the same are authorized and also availability of supporting documents i.e. receipts etc.
Checking cash closing stocks and monitoring and follow up on banking by all branches.
Main cash handling and controls at Head office level.
Perform monthly P&L analysis
Able to offer professional advice on financial matters and also formulating sound business plans.
Ensure that the ordering system is accurate and timely.
To make sure all data entered into the accounting system (Tally & POS) is backed up and in removable devices i.e. compact disks.
Ensuring credit control, and keeping track of all expenses in check with the existing budget.
Overlooking corporate creditors by balancing and managing their accounts.
Ensures that all statutory returns are paid every end month and also when they are due.
Makes sure that the company meets all tax requirements and is operating legally.
Degree and above in Accounting, Finance or related field from a recognized college or university.
Minimum 5-year business related finance lead experience
English language both written and spoken are mandatory
Literacy in computer applications and software’s are needed
Ability to cope with pressure from customers while delivering quality service.
Ability to accurately perform cash transactions.
Knowledge of Telecommunication products and services.
