The Carter Center country office in Ethiopia, which assists the Government of Ethiopia in Disease Elimination and Eradication Programs is looking for a qualified professional to fill the following vacancy for its Health Programs:

Summary of Job Description:  

•Installs, sets up, and configures Microsoft & Cisco Meraki cloud systems.

• Analyze workflows in departments and actively participate in automation process. This includes but not limited to analyzing user needs, drawing flowcharts & use cases, automations of workflows using Office 365 Apps and provide further recommendations. 

• Support Program and program support teams on data management.

• Keep proper documentation of computers, printers, network devices and other IT equipment. 

• Configures LAN, WLAN & WAN on desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, CDMA, etc., on users’ machines whenever needed.

• Ensures the availability of up-to-date computer software programs by installing Operating System, Application Software, and Firmware updates on laptops, desktops and other IT devices whenever needed.

• Regularly monitors network devices mounted in Country Office as well as regional offices and take immediate actions.

• Troubleshoots problems (Hardware & software) on computers, printers, photocopy machines, Scanners, and fax machines and provides efficient and effective maintenance.

• Recommends for outsourcing of IT Equipment maintenance when it is beyond the inhouse capacity or needs special technical skills for the maintenance.

• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled remedial maintenance and troubleshooting, when necessary.

• Provides IT user support to staff in Country Office and Regional Offices through either face-to-face or virtual communications.

• Provides technical supports on Applications implemented in other departments.

• Actively participate in the preparation and development of IT manuals, guidelines, protocols and other documents that are user friendly to be used by staff at The Carter Center-Ethiopia.

• In collaboration with the IT Manager, plan and conduct supportive supervision to regional offices.

• Actively participate in Annual Plan & Report preparation.

• Submit monthly updates on activities performed during the month.

• In collaboration with the IT manager, organize and provide IT related workshops and training for staff at country and regional offices to enable staff to effectively use all Carter Center IT resources.

• When IT related activities are outsourced, participates in preparation of ToR,  review offers from vendors, and selection process and monitor its implementation.

• Assists in onboarding (creating email accounts) for new staff and off-boarding for staff who are leaving The Carter Center Ethiopia.

• Assists in the automation of processes in other departments.

• Attends monthly TCC global IT meeting and update to the supervisor on new developments.

• Performs other activities as instructed by the IT Manager.

Job Requirements

Qualification:          

BSc degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or related fields from a recognized university.

Experience:            

Minimum of six years of work experience in providing IT support services.  

NGO experience is a plus. 

Additional Requirements:

• Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services, computer network installation and administration.

• Experience in the area of data management and automation.

• Proven work experience in supporting work process automation.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Strong customer service attitude and skills.

• Highly organized, multi-tasked, and good time management skills.
