Job Description
Responsibilities of Assistant MEL Officer
Accountable to CCP MEL and the project manager at the cluster level, will be responsible for leading the collection of data, synthesizing learnings, and working with the central teams to avail evidence for adaptative implementation.
Data Entry
Conduct data entry of the project data into computer database which will be collected through paper-based formats from youth leaders and other stakeholders.
Make sure that timely submission of reports and monitoring data by youth leaders and stakeholders
Data Quality Assurance
Make sure that the required data quality is maintained in both hard and soft copies
Checks the accuracy of data entered corresponding fields of hard and soft copies of data collection tools,
Make sure appropriate corrections are taken in a timely manner for data that compromises data quality assurance
Ensure the process of data entry is made on appropriate and functional data collection tools that are in use
Data Management and Documentation
Properly document and manage regular paper-based reports and source documents as well as softcopy of project data
Safeguards data with regular and continuous backups to ensure data protection and security
Synthesize project data and use for decision making
Monitoring
Facilitate pause and reflect sessions, and review meetings in collaboration with other project staff
Conduct supportive supervision as needed
Reports to: Senior MEL Specialist and Cluster Manager
Required no: 1 (one) for each region
Duration of Employment: 1 year with possible extension
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum First Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, IT or other related fields
Familiarity in database management
Outstanding typing and editing skills;
Demonstrate effective organizational skills and ability to handle work in an efficient and timely manner
