3iSolution is a non for profit organization that provides information management services to humanitarian and development organizations. Through information management, we help our partners target assistance to the world’s most vulnerable populations ad we support local authorities and institutions to enhance their capacities and become autonomous in their internal data and information management activities.

Background

The Systems Analyst is responsible for determining the computing needs of partners and translating them into system specifications, ensure quality implementation and documentation. The consultant will also ensure proper migration of data from other system to the newly developed platform.

The consultant will directly report to the PM and will closely work with the development team.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the definition, development, and documentation of software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications.

• Organize in person and online workshop to gather requirements from partners.

• Analyse and assess existing business systems and procedures.

• Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experience.

• Collaborate with developers and partners in the conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.

• Develop new software features and debug issues in existing system.

• Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs.

• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.

• Develop and maintain system and user manuals and quick guides.

• Tran end users to efficiently operate the new or modified software systems.

• Migrate data from old system to the newly designed platform.

• Ensure the platform source code, data base script and related documents are kept up to date in 3iSolution source code version control system

• Deploy systems to a test and production server and monitor their performance.

• Participate and contribute on 3iSolution knowledge series sessions.

• Other relevant duties as assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements

Education

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in IT, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from a recognized institution,

• A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience & Skills

• Two years of proven work experience as a system analyst or related role.

• Hands on experience with software development and documentation.

• Using software’s to create mock-ups and prototypes.

• Organizing and running user testing

• Proficiency in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and others.

• Knowledge of web development tools such as React, Angular, Vue and NodeJS.

• Familiarity with database design and administration.

• Strong understanding of API design and development.

• Experience implementing and maintaining complex web applications.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

• Ability to explain technical details.

• Excellent analytical skills.

• A good problem-solving attitude.

• Good in person and virtual meeting facilitation skill.

• Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to appropriately communicate information to technical and non-technical people.

• Knowledge of the humanitarian community and work environment.

• Ability to understand and adapt to complex and dynamic situations.
