STEP- Skill Development Cluster

Contract duration: Six Month

Duty station: Addis Ababa

The Ethio-German Sustainable Training and Education Programme (STEP), commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), co-funded by the European Union (EU), and Implemented by GIZ, aims to improve the income and employment situation for the Ethiopian population, especially for young people, through demand-driven training and qualification programmes. As one of its interventions, the programme is working to support the transformation of 15 comprehensive universities into the University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, universities, and the private sector.

Programme's technical support targets:

• Establishment of frameworks and curricula

• Capacity building of leaders and academicians

• Matching qualifications with the labour market need

• Benchmarking and experience sharing

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Higher education degree (BA or MA) in educational, social or political science, psychology, Business and Management or related fields

Professional experience

•  Fresh graduate

Other knowledge, additional competencies

• Knowledge in the area of education (best Technical and Vocational Education and Training) and/or private sector development.

• Experience in research.

• Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.

• Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office

• Has an eye for detail.

• High degree of initiative, efficiency, integrity and accountability.

• High interest in self-development, intellectual curiosity and has the capacity of thinking outside the box

• Ability to work alone as well as in a team.

• Highly motivated
