The Farm Sourcing Specialist at Yazz Grocery plays a pivotal role in building strong relationships with local farmers and ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality produce for our business. This role involves direct interaction with farmers, negotiating deals, assessing product quality, and overseeing the logistics of farm-to-warehouse sourcing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Identify local farms and farmers suitable for collaboration.

• Establish initial contact with farmers, explaining Yazz Grocery’s requirements and quality standards.

• Coordinate pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules with farmers.

• Regularly visit farms to inspect produce quality and ensure adherence to Yazz Grocery’s standards.

• Provide guidelines to farmers regarding best practices for cultivation and harvesting.

• Collaborate with the logistics team to arrange transportation from farms to the warehouse.

• Monitor the transportation process to ensure timely and safe delivery of produce.

• Maintain strong relationships with farmers, addressing any concerns promptly.

• Act as a liaison between Yazz Grocery and farmers, facilitating smooth communication.

• Keep detailed records of sourcing transactions, including quantities, prices, and farmer information.

• Provide regular reports to the management team regarding farm sourcing activities.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience in agricultural sourcing or a related field is preferred.

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build rapport with farmers.

• Knowledge of agricultural practices and produce quality standards.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

• Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
