Job Description

The purpose of this position is to coordinate and provide technical support on Humanitarian Emergency response program planning and implementation through coordinating proposal developments events, leading project implementations, engaging on cluster coordination meetings, leading project launching and monitoring events, coordinating partners visit, building capacity of project staff to deliver as per the agreed targets, and ensure as accountability to beneficiaries and donors. The coordinator will lead humanitarian operations and responses through engaging on assessments, documentation of lessons and case stories.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate and provide technical support on Humanitarian Emergency response program planning and implementation, closely follow up and monitor implementation of emergency response and rehabilitation projects/programs and ensure accountability at all levels.

All response projects are implemented within their time frame and as per the agreement with partners including donors.

Lead and engage on writing and reviewing emergency response and rehabilitation related proposals to mobilize resources to support disaster affected community and provide technical support on the designing and implementation of need based projects.

 Quality proposals are developed, and additional resources are being mobilized to support the disaster affected communities.

Lead and engage to conduct multi-sector need assessments, PDMs, onsite monitoring and evaluation of emergency response and recovery projects and programs by preparing draft TOR and coordinating at the field level and coordinate review events of the finding.

Follow up off budget utilization status of projects and programs under his/her supervision and organize monthly financial review meetings with field team, prepare action plans to control any under or overspending on time.

Project or program budgets are managed as per the plan and any deviations from agreed plan are managed timely.

Participate on humanitarian Taskforces/ clusters meetings for exchange of information and coordination purpose, update partners about response programs, and operation areas of World vision to avoid resource duplication.

World Vision is represented on all cluster meetings and information is being shared among the participants of the meeting.

Promote learning, engage on timely producing reports, produce best practices and case studies by working with closely with field and national office team.

Learning and best practices are documented and shared with donors and other partners.

Engage on team management, capacitate staff through on field coaching, support the Hub led to facilitate on time response staff recruitment.

Strong emergency response team is built, and smooth work environment is available at field level.

Job Requirements

Required Professional Experience

  • Previous work experience at least 5 years in   development / humanitarian sector

  • Strong capacity building and facilitation skills 

  • Experience of working in humanitarian and development programmed.

  • Experience of coordinating emergency response programs

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.

  • Experience of representation and ability to represent WVE effectively in external forums.

  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment, project proposal and reports.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification.

BSc/BA Degree or MA in Social sciences, Economics, Statistics or a related field.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training, mentoring, and other formal and non-formal methods together with strong presentation and reporting skills.

  • Self-motivated with excellent organization, planning, and analytical skills - able to work without close supervision, including prioritizing work and multi-tasking.

  • Very high attention to detail, with experience refining and editing content.

  • Advanced writing skills in English.

  • Experience in humanitarian emergencies
