Job Description
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs, or are visiting country programs; ore because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE: -
Th The position holder is responsible for the four IYCF component implementations in the woreda and working closely with the woreda, Kebele, community, and religious leaders and Health Development Army for the effective implementation and linkage of the IYCF program with the community and facility. In addition, the position holder is also expected to provide consistent and high-quality technical support in relation to IYCF implementation and will assist CMAM officers and TSFP officers in the woreda to build a strong IYCF implementation package.

JOBSPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
(a) Manages the project unit's implementation of the nutrition program in agreement with the overall IYCF Program activities according to SCI and national standards.
(b) Makes sure that the IYCF program is implemented according to the National protocol i.e. application of the admission and discharge criteria, closely monitors and strictly follows anthropometry measurement
(c) Facilitates the training under the project regarding IYCF
(d) Supports and liaises with the health center staff and provides on-the-job training and capacity building.
(e) Select and establish counsellors from the health facilities and the community.
(f) Establishment and strengthening of MTM support groups, training them, and close follow-up for supporting IYCF_E promotion activities.
(g) Asses and diagnose difficulties of feeding for all PLWs coming for other services, for screening, and at the community.
(h) Provide day-to-day one-to-one and group counselling for PLW regarding IYCF practices.
(i) Makes sure that the health staff have adequate training on providing proper IYCF counselling
(j) Conduct formative assessment for key behaviours and skills for IYCF and develop culturally appropriate and effective IEC materials and adapt it to the day-to-day counselling.
(k) Ensures the availability of job aids, reporting formats, and all other supplies for IYCF.
(l) Creates and maintain relationships with local health and other authorities and try to link the IYCF program with the existing health structure smoothly,
(m) Makes sure that health professionals from the health facilities participate on the daily routine work for sustainability and smooth phase-out strategy,
(n) Provides technical support and training where required to all team members, and outreach team including health extension workers and community volunteers,
(o) Works and liaise with any local health workers to integrate the IYCF program from the start,
(p) Organizes monthly report of community mobilization, IYCF, and report on time to the Sr. CMAM Officer, and provides updates when needed.
(q) Reports any problems in a timely manner to the Sr. CMAM Officer,
(r) Upholds the image and values of SC at all times,
(s) Performs other related tasks as required and tasks assigned by the organization

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Ø BSC/Diploma in Nursing or Public Health (Senior Clinical/Public Nurse or above).
Ø Minimum two years working experience for Degree and four years’ experience for Diploma holders out of which two-year experience directly related to emergency health & nutrition related fields Knowledge, training, and experience in IYCF and community mobilization/BCC
Ø Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
Ø Demonstrated skills in peer group training, Training of Trainers, and development of training materials.
Ø Proficiency in spoken and written English and Local language.
Ø Strong computer (Microsoft skills), all, and interpersonal skills.
Ø Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
