Job Summary
The Executive Director, under the direct supervision of the Executive Board, will implement policy decisions and ensures transparency and accountability in all Association operations. They are the high-level authority and responsible for day-to-day management, coordinating all operations for effective running of the Association as a Leading Organization in SRH&R. The Executive Director also enhances the volunteerism and governance structure for an effective, credible, reputable, transparent, and accountable institution.
About The Job
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Policy and Governance:
The ED will act as the main representative of the Association to the governing body and provide clear and timely information to the Executive Board.
They will collaborate with the President to develop policy proposals and support the President in engaging all governing body members.
Advising on governing body composition and self-assessment and establishing an annual meeting calendar.
Implementing a performance management scheme while preparing periodic reports for the Executive Board.
Maintaining communication between volunteers and staff and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Leadership and Management
They will lead strategic implementation, aligning with global commitments, develops, and oversees long-term strategy.
Provides oversight and guidance for program implementation while translating strategy into practical budgets and plans.
They will ensure a positive working climate and financial health through proper controls of expenditure and adherences to existing policies and procedures.
Upholds constitutional and legal obligations and establishes objectives, policies, and programs.
Promotes collaboration and leadership within teams and implement quality management practices.
Promote people culture by developing an efficient and effective staffing structure.
Lead fundraising and program and project implementation through deliberate Implementation of strategic management and performance systems.
Conducts performance appraisals across offices and develops the organization’s volunteer program through proper management procedures.
Monitors the national and international environment and proposes actions that keeps the organization abreast with local and international developments.
Prepares consolidated reports on implementation of past projects and plans for long-term success through effective delegation and risk management policies and continuity plans.
Mobilizes resources for strategic implementation and represents the Association in legal matters and partnerships.
Partnership and Stakeholder Management
Maintains effective relations with government, NGOs, and international agencies by building networks and relationships with agencies, partners, and stakeholders.
Expands and promotes the association's footprint and the national and international levels.
Prepares policy documents and engages with government in a manner that advocates the organization’s policies and rights.
Implements an advocacy strategy targeting and working with parliamentarians, community leaders, and media.
Contributes to global and regional leadership teams for organizational development and represents the organization externally at conferences, meetings, and technical working groups.
Resource Mobilization and Financial Management:
Ensures sustainable funding through government and international agencies and mobilize resources from local sources and diversified funding streams.
Generates sustainable revenue through the organization’s health facilities and innovative ventures.
Markets FGAE's services and technical expertise and research funding opportunities that facilitates access to additional resources for the organization.
Contributes to project proposals aligned with strategic plans and prepare consolidated reports on implementation, budget, and performance.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
Holds a PhD/MPH/MSc/MBA/MA degree from recognized institutions.
Fields of study include Health science, Leadership, Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Management, Demography, Population Study, Project Management, or related fields.
Relevant Experience:
Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience for MPH/MSc/MBA/MA degree holders or 8 years for PhD holders.
At least 8 years of experience in a senior leadership position in an NGO or public health sector agency implementing donor-funded projects.
Skills & Attributes:
A good understanding of international reproductive health care issues and major donor rules policies and regulations
Sexual Reproductive health services domain expertise coupled.
Knowledge and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and excellent command of both written and spoken English.
Strategic thinking, communication and negotiation skills.
Advanced analytical, organizational skills and able to lead strategically leadership in multi-disciplinary teams.
