Job Description

Information Management Officer (IMO) CST II at World Food Programme (WFP)

World Food Programme (WFP)

Position: Information Management Officer (IMO) CST II

Deadline: November, 05/2023

ABOUT WFP

The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The Food Cluster, which is led by the World Food Programme (WFP) as the Cluster Lead Agency (CLA) is supporting in coordinating the food response planning and implementation of strategies in Ethiopia, through collaboration with partners and the Government of Ethiopia. There are still concerns of worsening food insecurity in some regions, including the conflict and drought-affected zones, where households need emergency food assistance. Projections for 2024 indicate that the most vulnerable people in the northern and southern parts of the country will require timely and coordinated food assistance. The increase in number of displaced people and the negative impact of drought and conflicts on livelihoods have resulted in additional food-insecure people to be assisted by the Government and partners. This has contributed to additional demand for food cluster analysis and products, including information for strategic decisions at national and regional levels.
