Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry S.C. previously known as Kadisco Chemical Industry PLC is a privately owned company located in Addis Ababa in the Akaki Kality Industrial Zone area. Kadisco is a company that traces its origins back from a small automotive parts dealership that was operating in one of the busy streets of Addis Ababa back in late 60’s. During the period until 1975 it had the opportunity to act as the sole distributor for Sadoline Paints. In 1979 it was registered as the sole company to manufacture adhesives and glue. By stages, the company developed into a diversified paint manufacturer.

In February 2015, Asian Paints Ltd and Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC formed a joint venture for business in Ethiopia and came to be known as Kadisco Asian paints. Asian Paints is India’s leading paint company and Asia’s second largest, with a group turnover of USD 2.7 billion. The group has an enviable reputation in the corporate world for professionalism, fast track growth, and building shareholder equity. Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint manufacturing facilities in the world servicing consumers in over 65 countries.

Today the company produces a full range of paints for the construction, industrial and automotive sectors. It also produces wood and concrete lacquers as well as adhesives for the wood and leather industry.

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the quality assurance of incoming raw materials, packing materials, intermediates and finished goods. He/ She also handles customer complaints redressal process and prevention & control of nonconforming product within the plant.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides support to the Operations Manager in achieving the plant's quality objectives.

• Ensures the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) within the Quality Assurance (QA) department and across the entire plant.

• Ensures adherence to legal metrology act and maintains quality systems for paint processing, packing, and polymer processing operations.

• Ensures effective resolution of customer complaints through accurate problem-solving and the implementation of action plans. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing and technology, to address customer concerns.

• Actively participates in cross-functional plant teams for quality improvement projects utilizing methods such as FMEA, lean, and Six Sigma.

• Ensures control over packing material quality through vendor audits and prevention of rejections through effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

• Ensures adherence to revenue budget and timely completion of capital expenditure requirements.

• Ensures compliance with the Environment and Safety Management Systems (EMS & SMS).

• Responsible for setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and managing the performance of direct and indirect reports, including Senior Officers and Officers.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience Requirements 

• Engineering from Mechanical discipline or MBA in operations is a plus.

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification or Certified Quality Engineer credentials.

• Proven 6-8 years of experience in managing quality within the manufacturing process industry, including FMCG, Automobiles, and chemical processing.

• Previous experience as a Manager in the Quality domain within the FMCG industry is considered advantageous.

• Good analytical skill, Global perspective, financial acumen, Achievement orientation 

• Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a team player.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.

• Punctuality and reliability in attending to assigned duties.
