LonAdd HR Consultancy Plc (www.lonadd.com) is a Recruitment & Outsourcing Company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with branch offices in Dukem and Hawassa. We are looking to recruit a qualified-on Assistant Production Manager behalf of our client.

Kadisco is a company that traces its origins back from a small automotive parts dealership that was operating in one of the busy streets of Addis Ababa back in late 60’s. During the period until 1975 it had the opportunity to act as the sole distributor for Sadoline Paints. In 1979 it was registered as the sole company to manufacture adhesives and glue. By stages, the company developed into a diversified paint manufacturer.

In February 2015, Asian Paints Ltd and Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC formed a joint venture for business in Ethiopia and came to be known as Kadisco Asian paints. Today the company produces a full range of paints for the construction, industrial and automotive sectors. It also produces wood and concrete lacquers as well as adhesives for the wood and leather industry.

Position Summary

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process and ensuring that production lines are running smoothly and efficiently, collaborate with senior officers and the maintenance team to plan work, set targets, and ensure that finished products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Production Processes

• Plan and review all operations involved in production activities to ensure timely accomplishment of production service parameters

• Strive to optimize processes to enable effective utilization of capacity and deliver the results in terms of higher output

• Manage activities to ensure zero waste generation; in case of waste generation, ensure recycle & reuse all waste to attain zero discharge

• Reduce operational cost through improvement projects and strive to deliver output with minimum cost

Quality

• Review and monitor compliance with highest standard of Quality management as stated in APQS manual and ensure timely improvements in Quality system

Safety

• Follow all requirements of safety manual and strive to improve safety standards from time to time

System

• Maintain SAP hygiene and work towards reducing the variance in Raw materials.

• Update all required changes in APQS, as and when process call for

People Management

• Coordinate with shift engineer and extend support for improving delivery of individuals.

• Handle conflicts and be sensitive to any IR and behavioral issue that might arise and apprise superiors accordingly.

• Monitor performance management system for all subordinates and provide necessary feedback.

• Identify training requirements through MDA conversation and coordinate with Personnel team to impart knowledge wherever needed.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience Requirements                     

• Engineering from Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering discipline or MBA in operations is a plus.

• Proven 9-10 years’ experience for Lateral entries.

• Good analytical skill, Global perspective, financial acumen, Achievement orientation 

• Leadership, motivate others, Conflict management, strategically thinking.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a team player.
