Job Description

The Legal Assistant will work in Legal department. Will report to and work under the supervision of the Legal Manager. 

The Legal Assistant will mainly be responsible to handle the following tasks.

  • Provide legal advice on non-complex legal issues

  • Draft/Review non-complex procurement contracts and other legal documents

  • Conduct legal research on cases and legal issues. And, gather pertinent legal information as required from time to time.

  • Handle non-complex legal cases and procedural matters at governmental authorities

  • Monitor, study and develop written summaries of draft and enacted legislations, regulations, industry guidelines, business journals and other relevant publications.

  • Notarize legal documents at public notary office, handle business license renewal and update 

  • Assist with the administration and management of legal department workflow.

  • Self motivated and one who aspires to prove himself/herself in the current role to earn promotion to higher positions in legal department and to grow with the Company.

Education and Major requirements

  • At least Bachelor degree in law

Experience Requirement

  • At least two years of experience working in the legal field; familiar with south Sudan law, Djibouti law or Eritrea Law.

Language Skill

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.  Skills in other languages is also advantageous, especially  French.

(3) Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

(4) meticulous attention to details

(5) Ability to work independently and as part of a Team

(7) Proficient in Microsoft Office
