Ø  Accomplishes mechanical maintenances as per specific instructions;

Ø  Up on receipt of maintenance work order/request, he examines the equipment and identifies the problem, and prepares the necessary spare parts and instruments;

Ø  Checks the proper functioning of the production equipment and hands it over to the operator;

Ø  Prepares plans for inspection and for interim and major maintenance work; reports problems and challenges to his immediate supervisor;

Ø  Records the spare parts used, the time taken, and manpower engaged for the maintenance in the order card/book and submits it to his supervisor;

Ø  Conducts on –job  inspection and observation of production equipments during operation and, when a problem is detected, takes timely corrective action;

Ø  Reports to his supervisor in cases where parts should be taken to other companies for maintenance, and undertakes the same;

Ø  In consultation with the production section, starts production equipment’s that demand especial attention and closely monitors their operation;

Ø  Records in the proper log books the maintenance works done and the problems;

Ø  Participates in the cleaning of production equipments;

Ø  Undertakes other assignments as instructed by his immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Education

§  Diploma in general mechanics from a Polytechnic or a Technique & Vocational School

Other Training

§  Two months relevant training for welding

Work Experience

§  four year experience for Poly-technique; or five years for technical & Vocational school
