Job Description
Tearfund Ethiopia is looking for a Project Coordinator for its Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA) project. JISRA is a partnership of 50 civil society organisations based in Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria and Uganda, the United Kingdom, Belgium and The Netherlands. The programme is aimed at promoting peaceful and just societies where all enjoy Freedom of Religion and Belief (FoRB). JISRA works with a great variety of local faith-based actors, partners, networks, youth and women’s organisations to support, capacitate and amplify inclusive voices and policies. In Ethiopia, It is being implemented by eleven local partners together with two international consortium partners;Tearfund and Faith to Action Network. The JISRA partnership in Ethiopia includes mainstream religions: Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, Islamic organisations, Catholic, Protestant, Interreligious, and Faith-based local partners.
The JISRA Project Coordinator (JPC) will coordinate, lead, and ensure the effective implementation and management of the Tearfund Ethiopia component of the JISRA project. The JPC will provide technical, coordination, M&E and reporting support to Tearfund JISRA local implementing partners. Also, the JPC is expected to work closely with the consortium local implementing partners and take lead initiatives on joint consortium activities and will provide support to JISRA Country Consortium Coordinator.
We are looking for candidates with:
Degree and/or equivalent qualification in a humanitarian, program management, development or management related discipline
3 or more years’ experience in project coordination, project management and budget management, in large-scale donor funded programming.
Experience in program monitoring and evaluation including designing and evaluating projects
Experience working with and through multiple local partners
Experience with partner and donor reporting and facilitating reporting and M&E
Proven experience in training and capacity building with partner organisations
Conversant with Freedom of Religion and Belief (FoRB) emerging issues, trends, and policies
proven experiences in the application of digital platforms for execution of projects
The successful applicant will also have:
Excellent leadership and management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills including sensitivity in cross cultural communications.
Excellent situational awareness and conflict sensitivity skills
Training, learning, facilitation, mentoring and presentation skills
Fluency (written and spoken) in English and Amharic

This role will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and it requires fluency (written and spoken) in English and Amharic, therefore Ethiopian nationals will be given preference for this role.
