Under the overall supervision of the IOM Dire Dawa Head of Sub Office and the direct supervision of the Project Associate - MRC, the staff will be responsible for:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Assist in providing tailored direct assistance to migrants in vulnerable situations in the Migration Response Center (MRC) following MRC minimum service standard and IOM protection principles.
Collect, retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on migrant profiles, vulnerability, needs, and services in the MRC
Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget-related information related to MRC services.
Support administrative and logistical coordination of Dewelle MRC, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
Support reception, registration, referral, and transportation of migrants, screening of vulnerable migrants at the points of entry or border crossing points, and reintegration to their communities of origin.
Draft situation reports and provide input to project reporting, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the supervisor's attention.
Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation.
Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions in the MRC location.
Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Qualification
High School Diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Experience in providing tailored assistance to vulnerable groups
Languages
Thorough knowledge of spoken and written English is required.
Knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of the broad range of migration-related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
Proven experience with case management
Proven experience with movement management
Knowledge of migrant protection and assistance
Computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Windows / MS Office application
Excellent communication
