Purpose:

The role of the Staff Wellbeing Officer is to facilitate the implementation of the Staff Wellbeing Committees, to organize and facilitate staff wellbeing activities, to conduct trainings on positive coping and carrying out staff wellbeing assessments. The Staff Wellbeing Officer also has additional technical support, reporting and documentation responsibilities.

The ideal candidate would have education or experience in wellbeing activities through study and/or work experience in the fields of mental health and psychosocial support of human resources with a formal degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Sociology, Business Administration & Management or other relevant field.  The Staff Wellbeing Officer will be responsible for provision of trainings and workshops on wellbeing and development of related training materials and documentation, all based on the global best practice standards, in close collaboration with the Staff Wellbeing Consultant and Human Resource Manager.

Priority will be given to candidates with relevant educational background and technical field experience.

The Staff Wellbeing Officer will spend at least 70% of his/her time in the field working directly with frontline staff.

 Scope of Work:

 Key Responsibilities

  •  Promotes staff wellbeing across all field sites and offices where IMC operates, through the implementation of staff wellbeing committees and activities

  • Plans staff wellbeing committee meetings, takes notes and follows up on action points  

  • Facilitate workshops on stress management, time management and positive coping for staff Organize team building activities and workshops

  • Ensure respect for privacy & confidentiality

 Technical Support

  • Provides technical input and feedback to all related Staff Wellbeing Activities

  • Lead in developing staff wellbeing training materials and organizing online training seminars

  • Provides technical support to other organisations on staff wellbeing through the MHPSS Sub-working Group

 Other tasks

  • Ensures high quality correspondence and communication with colleagues, local partners, other agencies, grantees and governmental organization as needed and directed.

  • Contributes to proposals and report writing as needed

  • Responsible for collecting and reporting on program specific indicators related to their scope of work

 REPORTING

  •  Compile & send monthly report on committee meetings and activities

  • Provide regular updates to HR and Staff Wellbeing Consultant on key staff wellbeing topics

  • Reports on all tasks and responsibilities including referrals using collection tools provided by IMC.

  • Participate in M&E activities for impact measurement assessment when applicable (surveys, FGD, interviews, community organizing etc.).

Job Requirements

·  QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Mental Health, Social Work, Sociology or related field of study.

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Three years experience in staff wellbeing and mindfulness activities, with at least one year experience in Human Resource Management

  • One year related experience in humanitarian organizations

  • Able and willing to work and travel in all regions of Ethiopia

  • Cultural sensitivity to the needs and priorities of colleagues from different sectors of the community.

  • Strong group facilitation skills

  • Knowledge of global guidelines pertaining to staff wellbeing in humanitarian work

  • Ability to work independently and responsibly.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to staff well-being

  • Excellent  communication skill in English

  • Knowledge of local language (Tigrigna) is mandatory
