Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Support the Program Finance Manager in developing and managing the program's budget and forecasts ensuring alignment with program objectives and donor requirements.

·         Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Assist in generating financial reports for program stakeholders as required.

·         Collaborate with program teams to gather financial information, forecasts, and expenditure plans for budget formulation.

·         Monitor budget implementation, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.

·         Track and report on financial performance, including preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

·         Generate financial analysis reports and provide insights to support decision-making by program management.

·         Ensure that the program is financially sustainable by forecasting and monitoring cash flow, managing debt and equity financing, and identifying and mitigating financial risks.

·         Monitor program expenditures against approved budgets, tracking variances and ensuring timely corrective actions

·         Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.

·         Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

·         Training program staff on financial management.

·         Work with the Program Finance Manager and other team members to ensure that the program's financial systems are effective and efficient.

·         Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in financial management.

·         Representing the program at conferences and events on financial management.

Job Requirements:

Education

·         Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related role.

Competency/Prerequisites:

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Proficiency in financial management software and tools.

·         Detail-oriented and organized.

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills
