Job Description
Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) is an Ethiopian indigenous, “Civil Society Organization” established in 2014. ASDEPO is mandated to operate in all regional states of the country and is engaged indifferent thematic program areas of intervention namely: Humanitarian Response, Education, Health/HIV and AIDS/RH, Women and Youth Economic Empowerment, Gender Based Violence and Child Protection, Migration/Human Trafficking, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (Wash), NTD’s Climate Change, Agriculture, Environmental Protection and Training in Gambella, Oromia, Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, Afar, SNNPR and Somali Region.
Introduction
The MHNT Team leader will be responsible for supporting the implementation of MHNTs activities in assigned Sibu Sire woredas of East Wollega Zone, Oromia Region. S/He will primarily lead and coordinate the MHNT and proper implementation of Emergency Health and Nutrition response project at woreda level, focusing returnees and host communities. Moreover; s/he will work closely with Field Coordinator based in the Sibu Sire, woreda health office and Health center/post workers to enhance the participation and involvement in prevention, awareness creation, capacity building training and medical consultation.
Design plan movement and ensure all service package components of the MHNT are delivered.
Represent ASDEPO at Health and Nutrition coordination, and task force meetings at Woreda and Zonal level.
Ensures that Health and Nutrition activities are implemented as per the standard protocols, policies, and guidelines of MoH and WHO.
Provide support and guidance to the project staff, assess training needs, plan & provides training/guidance for staff.
Facilitate training for health professionals in community-based management of acute malnutrition, disease outbreak/PHEM, IYCF and etc.
Participating in health, nutrition, and/or multi-sectoral assessments as required.
Conducts regular field visits to provide supportive supervision and monitor MHNT sites and health facilities to track the implementation of integrated health and nutrition programs and strengthen the existing health system.
Ensure information-sharing and coordination of project activities with relevant local government stakeholders, health centers, donors and clusters.
Manage project finances through adherence to ASDEPO and donor financial guidelines within approved budget limits.
Closely work with relevant head office departments to ensure procurement and delivery of medical supplies in a timely and transparent manner to meet project objectives.
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports, as well as other reports as required.
Facilitate internal and joint monitoring and supportive supervisions with technical assistance from the M&E unit.
Supervise and evaluate the activities of MHNT and provide immediate feedback.

BSc Degree in Public Health, Nurse, Midwife and Post-graduate degree other health and nutrition related field.
Minimum work experience of 5 years for BSc Degree, 2 years for MSc/MPH holders.
Previous experience managing MHNT programs and NGO experience in emergency health and nutrition response project activities is preferable.
Good technical and report writing skills with computer skills and knowledge
Excellent verbal and written communication,
Self-motivated, honest, highly responsible, and punctual, and able to constructively address gaps and weaknesses
Ability to work under pressure in remote areas and understanding the cultural context of the local area and able to speak Afan Oromo.

Good knowledge and experience of the Ethiopian health and nutrition systems and policies
